Voice & TTS

Configure text-to-speech, speech-to-text, and voice input behavior.

TTS Engine
Server TTS uses locally-hosted Piper neural voices with per-bot voice assignments. Browser TTS uses your OS voices.

Server Voice
Override the default Piper voice for all messages. Leave on Auto to use per-bot voice assignments from the server.
Used when Piper TTS is unavailable. Requires internet.
Browser Voice
Only used when TTS backend is set to Browser.

Speech-to-Text (STT)
Whisper runs server-side for high-quality offline transcription. Browser API uses your OS speech recognition (Chrome/Edge only).

Hands-Free Conversational Mode
Continuous voice loop: listen for speech, auto-send on silence, play bot responses via TTS, then listen again. Toggle with the headphones icon in the channel header.

Auto-Play Responses
Automatically speak bot responses via TTS when hands-free mode is active
Require Wake Word
When enabled, mic stays idle until you say the wake word below. When disabled, continuous listening starts immediately.
